| Counseling: The Network utilizes local mental health centers for a clinical therapist to provide on and off site counseling to guests. The connection with the mental health center gives quicker access when medication and/or psychological evaluations are needed.
Client Phone Line: In order to keep their shelter status confidential, guests are provided with a phone line to give the prospective landlords and employers
Child Care: ICHF
has access to eight child care slots set aside for homeless children. If the slots are full when needed, the staff social worker assists in placing children in facilities where there is space.
Health Care: Linkage and referral as needed.
Relocation Assistance: When donations of furniture and household supplies are made to ICHF
, inventories are made of all furniture and supplies available. When a family is ready to leave, the social worker meets with them to create a "shopping list" of all items needed, helps them locate the items and schedule a pick-up/delivery date. Families receive vouchers to the Market Street Mission and the Recycling Ministry. They can use these vouchers for items for their new homes.
Financial Literacy: A budget counseling program is coordinated by volunteers that work one-to-one with families on developing and following a budget, banking, etc. Guests open savings accounts and are required to save.
Mentoring: "Adopt-A-Family" was begun by participating host congregations. Congregations can commit to sponsoring a family for one year after they leave the Network. Volunteers from the congregation keep in touch with the family and assist as needed.
Holiday Help: Gift certificates and presents are donated by congregations and individuals. In addition, corporations wishing to adopt a family for the holidays are matched with families who request help.
